About mPwdGen

A free, private password generator that runs in your browser.

mPwdGen is a collection of free password tools built around one idea: your passwords should never leave your device. Every tool on this site — the main random password generator, the memorable passphrase generator, the 8-character generator, the strength checker and the Wi-Fi password ideas generator — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and the Web Crypto API.

We do not require an account, do not collect emails, do not store generated passwords, and do not use cross-site tracking. When you click "Generate", the password is created on your own computer. You can verify this by opening DevTools → Network and watching that no requests fire. We also offer a free Microsoft Edge extension called "Password Generator - mPwdGen" that works the same way, directly from your browser toolbar.

We built mPwdGen because most online password generators either send your passwords to a server, require sign-up, or bombard you with ads. We wanted a tool that is fast, private and works even when you are offline after the page loads.
